Tag Brush

Image
Tag Brush     Every artist should have a tag brush that they include on their work. As a digital artist I created my own tag brush. I used my logo, the pen tool, different overlays, and the brush tool to create the tag brush. The overlays added the "street art" effect to my tag brush. I am looking forward to utilizing this in future projects. It will defiantly help give my art more pop.

Photoshop Homework 1

Photoshop Homework 1 Video 1: Pen Tool     The first video goes over the pen tool in Adobe Photoshop. I have experience using the pen tool in Photoshop and Illustrator, so I do not think it will be a challenge for me. This tool is very useful because it allows us to modify shapes into a desired shape. I really liked how the video is short, which allows the creator to explain the topics simply. The pen tool is very useful and important and I am glad I am learning more about it. Video 2: Brush Tool     Video 2 explains how to use the brush tool. I personally have used the brush tool quite a lot in my previous work. It has helped me add more personality and detail to my pieces. The brush tool has come pretty easy for me when working in Photoshop. I think that the brush tool makes adding details to your work simpler. I really like how the creator of this video covered not only the simple aspects of the brush tool but also the more complex aspects. The more you know...

Poster

Image
Poster: "Are you REALLY ok?"     I created a  propaganda poster utilizing skills in Adobe Illustrator. This poster included a self-portrait and expressed a cause that I care about. I started by taking inspiration from posters like the one below of Che Guevara. I like how this poster utilized minimal colors that draw the viewers' attention. After viewing other posters for inspiration, I searched my photo library to find an image of myself that conveyed the message I was trying to tell. I came across a recent image of myself posing in the heart of my hometown city. I feel like the image by itself conveyed happiness and confidence, which is what I wanted it to convey. I then took this image and imported it into Adobe Illustrator. From there I "Created an Outline" of the image. This feature tells the computer to create outlines of my image and leaves out the minor details. This created the desired minimal, but loud effect I wanted on my image.      I then ...

Logo

Image
Logo     Below is the logo I created for my personal brand. It is a simple butterfly with different color variations. I chose to do a butterfly because it best encompasses who I am. I am a very reserved person, but I am very unique. Similarly, a butterfly is reserved but unique in its many colors. I like butterflies because they do not move in a "loud" way. They move quietly but take up a lot of space visually and emotionally. Everyone wants to see a butterfly. A butterfly is not loud like a lion with its jarring roar but approaches its life with a calm-like aura. I aspire to be like a butterfly in that sense.     I created this logo in Adobe Illustrator. I started off by looking at similar logos for inspiration (as seen below). I then sketched out what I wanted to produce. For the sketch, I kept it very loose and free to mimic the energy of a butterfly. I then turned my sketch into a digital, black-and-white copy.       From there I added d...
